The fate of the Red Sox

1995 kicked my ass
spent my summer in art class
met some people that changed my life
my lung collapsed but I knew Id survive
if it weren't for the girls, the girls with brown eyes
who get close enough to see your terrified
if it weren't for the guys who took me in
who could surely tell I would never fit
catastrophes, disasters and the fate of the fucking red sox
all waited for me on a hill in some college town
I got there I put my bags down and I saw you
all fake pissed off proud and punk rock and I wanted to be the same
I said "I cant believe our councilor is in a ska band"
at this summer camp for rich kids
you said Icool man
I just had sex with my girlfriend
and I" feel like I wont the lottery"
wearing a shirt that said "no future"
a no fear tank you took a sharpie to
when you got up to your dorm room
and me in my sound idea T
at least 3 sizes too big for me
that my dad drove across the state of florida to get me
ohh jeane
im sorry I didn't know anything
I still don't know anything
but I could've at least been more of a gentleman
that stupid song we sang to the girls dorm
was great for everyone
not having a panic attack
I still don't know how I was your favorite
I was afraid of everything back then
catastrophes, disasters and the fate of the fucking red sox
all waited for me on a hill in some college town
I got there I put my bags down and I saw you
all fake pissed off proud and punk rock and I wanted to be the same

400 Watts

all this time just lingers on
stuck at moms house …mowing the lawn
my hands are gone
but my head is strong
noone fixes anything anymore
well I tore em down I built them up I lost my hands but never lost my touch
you kids don't really know too much
a million dollar industry just goes the way of everything
this extra room a makeshift shrine for who I was in another time
outside its two thousand thirteen but in here its 1983
once I blew the fucking windows out with my crue cassettes 400 watts
and now I might stare around the room
give the guys a call and see what their all up to
but Ive not the strength to do what I was born to
you do all this work only to find that it don't love you
well this great nation moved on and I guess I was left here
with this stinging in my eyes half blind but I can still see
whats happened to this city what happened to my friends
everything is made to be replaced true tradesmanship is dead
this rooms whats left
